Proposed Interview Date: Week Commencing Monday 7th August 2023 Job Details ?Temporary until 30th June 2025 This is a new fixed term role at the core of climate and energy; working across six local authorities in the Edinburgh and South East Scotland Region. As part of the UKRI funded "Net Zero: Fast Followers" research programme the post will act as a strategic catalyst to support the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Deal partnership to accelerate future green skills capacity and capabilities for net zero outcomes. The role will lead two feasibility studies to inform the development and implementation of programmes achieving collective and inclusive future net zero workforce planning, new entrant training, and upskilling. Key task Develop and deliver feasibility studies addressing non-technical barriers for: Public Sector net zero skills shortfalls for domestic retrofit and energy efficiency measures. Opportunities to develop high-skilled manufacturing workforce to meet zero emissions heat supply chain demands, including opportunities within the Forth Green Freeport. Disseminate the findings to help inform a common regional approach to new net zero skills development training needs including the development of a Net Zero Skills Hub for the region. Participate in the wider " Net Zero: Fast Followers " to disseminate learning and experience to partners. The Person We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with a positive attitude to partnership working; applicants must be able to demonstrate a level of competence and knowledge of managing projects and developing feasibility studies. You will need to be a strong effective communicator, managing engagement with a large range of stakeholders. You will bring experience of information analysis and solution development and undertaking research and practical use and interpretation of data. We are looking for someone who can manage the strong expectations of this role and complex projects, including assessment and reporting.
