What you’ll do

As a Strategic Finance Adviser, you’ll be providing business insights and market knowledge to assist the leadership team to make key product, cost and investments specific decisions in conjunction with the franchise.

This role partners the leadership team of Business Banking, a key customer business within Commercial & Institutional. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Business Banking Managing Director and their leadership team to shape the future direction of the business on strategic priorities including enterprise, growth and climate. The successful candidate will also get the chance to work on pan-Commercial insight and analysis, on areas such as lending performance.

You’ll also be:

  • Analysing financial regulatory change impact on products and services
  • Providing investment tracking and forecasting reviews
  • Using the data and analytics thinking required to solve strategic problems using the latest tools and techniques
  • Collaborating with our Finance centre of excellence to provide specific financial plans, forecasts, stress testing and customer, market or segment analysis
  • Reviewing and challenging the use of resources presented in investment decisions and business cases

The skills you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll need good stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate, influence and resolve conflict. Along with planning and organisation capabilities, you’ll need the ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty and risk and work in a flexible environment.

You’ll also demonstrate:

  • Strong data analysis and modelling skills
  • The ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise and non-technical manner
  • The ability to create and review plans, forecasts, models and stress scenarios
  • Strategic awareness and the ability to apply business knowledge, expertise and challenge to support the business
  • Good finance functional knowledge, accounting knowledge and product area and market segment knowledge
  • Qualified as an accountant or qualified by experience
