Our client is looking for an experienced Stores Operative to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. This job also includes FLT Driver / Forklift Truck Operative duties. This would suit someone with previous experience as a Stores Person / Stock Controller / Storesman / Stores Operative / Stores Assistant, or similar stores role. Salary is £10.42 per hour. Please only apply for this role if you have previous experience in a Stores role, and have an in-date Counterbalance FLT Forklift Truck license. Key purpose is to perform all tasks associated with stock control, including booking in, checking, arranging storage, and issuing stock for production. You will also work in materials management as part of the Procurement Department. Duties and Responsibilities:-Receiving deliveries, checking them over in marshalling area, and booking into to the business ERP systems Sage and MANDI.
  • Identifying goods purchased specifically for projects by printing off, applying a ‘goods received sheet’ and storing them in nominated areas.
  • Keeping a record of all deliveries received by filling in the delivery log and saving all delivery receipt notes.
  • Storing checked goods in correct locations as defined by the Stores Manager.
  • Picking goods for production purpose and issuing them out to manufacturing as per schedule issued by the Stores Manager.
  • Labelling production issue picks and storing them in marshalled area ready for production.
  • Recording all picks and issues by booking them out on ERP system (Sage) and keeping records of issued picks in file for auditing purpose.
  • Performing daily/weekly PI checks to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Supporting manufacturing by moving large stock and goods when required.
  • Any other reasonable request or ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time for the smooth running of the business.
  • Supporting smooth running of other business processes such as NCR, Kanban and stock availability by effective communication.
  • Adhering to company’s Health and Safety procedures at all times.
  • Occasionally working on either manufacturing site might be requested on short notice. Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Stores role.
  • In-date FLT license (Counterbalance).
  • Knowledge of Excel is advantageous.
  • Be used to dealing with IT software to keep records of stock, goods in goods out, etc
