At Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust we are seeking individuals who want to contribute to our vision of providing compassionate nursing care. We are interested in hearing from people who can make a difference with their dedication, expertise, compassion and a positive outlook.

Holford Ward (PICU) is a modern, 10 bed mixed gender facility based at the Wellsprings Hospital Site where there are very close working relationships with the neighbouring two adult acute admission wards. The PICU is a member of NAPICU, the Positive and Safe Network and takes an individualised and progressive approach towards the management of restrictive interventions.

You should be a Registered Nurse with outstanding communication skills. As a team player you will work innovatively, showing a commitment to providing compassionate care with a strong desire to improve the patient experience. The successful applicant will be able to apply the philosophies of engagement, recovery, and positive and proactive care in your work with service users.

We are able to offer you a supportive and welcoming environment with access to supervision, appraisals, psychology services such as reflective practice groups, and regular opportunities for both formal and informal training. There is a strong focus on staff wellbeing on the ward so you can be confident that you will have the support you need to continue to provide good clinical care.

The role involves responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care and the promotion of issues of equality and diversity in accordance with good practice and legislation.

The successful candidate must be confident, approachable, and sensitive to the issues faced by people who are in the most acute and challenging phase of their journey towards recovery.

This is a really good opportunity to work in an environment that is challenging but rewarding within a friendly and supportive team. We’re always happy to hear from potential staff so if you’d like to visit us informally to meet the team before applying please feel free to get in touch.

For those looking to escape busy city life and move to an area that is less populated with more access to open spaces, Somerset has a lot to offer you. We are able to offer a relocation package.

Newly qualified nurses or students that are nearing the end of their training are welcome to apply and will be supported with preceptorship.

For an informal discussion or an opportunity to view Holford Ward please contact Amanda Fear or Martin Chapman on 01823 368211

Please note: If you are successful for interview, you will be required to bring the following with you: Proof of any essential qualifications stated on the Job Description, proof of NHS payslip if coming from another NHS Organisation and all ID to prove your identity and Right to Work (More details will follow for successful applicants invited to interview)

Our values are simple: Outstanding Care, Working Together, Listening and Leading.
