Job OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse Band 5 to join Towy Ward, Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.Towy Ward is a 20 bedded ward specialising in Cardiology and Endocrine disorders. We have 10 Designated Cardiology beds this includes treating patients with Cardiac conditions such as heart failure, patients requiring pacemakers, Transoesophageal Echocardiograms, Dobutamine stress Echo’s and those requiring procedures in the cardiac catheter suit at the local cardiac centre including, Angiogram and Angioplasty. The Ward also treats patients with endocrine disorders, such as Diabetes. We specialise in diabetes and endocrine management with emphasis on patient education, acute and chronic wound management, complex discharge planning, end-of-life care and the care of the general medical patient.We have an amazing opportunity for nurses new to Cardiology and endocrine specialities that have keen interest to learn and expand their knowledge or nurses who wish to expand their existing cardiology and endocrine experience. We offer an exciting opportunity for Staff nurses a rotational position between Towy Ward and Coronary Care Unit which has 6 level 2 Cardiac beds and 6 level 1 step-down beds.Main duties of the jobWe are looking for highly motivated individuals to work within our dynamic working environment with a passion in caring for acutely ill patients.You must have:
