Eindhoven Germany or the UK is the preferred base locations.The role:Global Sales Development Manager – Battery segmentThis position is responsible for developing and deploying a global annual sales plan and long-term profitable growth for the Materials Science (MS) business unit, electron microscopy, and surface analysis markets in the Clean Energy and Battery segment. Responsibilities include developing strategies, including sales strategies, to continuously improve Thermo Fisher’s position in the addressed segments while penetrating new adjacent segments in order to expand the customer base.What you’ll do:
  • Sales Support – Maintain relationships with key customers and work to develop them into reference customers to help sales in the region. Work closely with the sales organization to gather Materials Science business in the specific segment of Battery by providing unique sales strategies & value propositions, especially with high-value and sophisticated deals. Support all aspects of the business strategy
  • Business development –Drive MS business performance (incl. bookings, margin, revenue growth, and market position). Provide input to the weekly and quarterly bookings forecast processes. Provide input to pricing, positioning, sales training content, volume planning, and nonstandard request justification, and be the “voice of the field” to the business in new product introduction. Represent the business in regional commercial meetings, internally and externally.
  • Strategy: Deploy global Sales strategies in line with the global MS business plan for Battery for both Academia and Industry segments. Screen application trends to identify new market opportunities or potentially redefine trends. Identify issues and drive improvement actions
  • Maintain relationships with internal collaborators, lead cross-functional, global teams, and work closely with the business, sales operations, and regional Sales teams to deliver outstanding customer value while achieving the objectives of the business.
  • Continuous Improvement: monitor and continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of strategy execution by implementing powerful business processes (PPI)
What we need from you:
  • MS degree in relevant technical or business domain
  • Segment and market knowledge – you understand Clean Energy and Battery segment customers’ environment, processes, and challenges. You have validated you can transform this understanding into commercial solution strategies/initiatives (product, workflow, and service).
  • Evangelize new customers and guide them to our proposed solutions.
  • Identify creative and innovative solutions
  • Establish relationships, get results and make ethical decisions
  • Track record in delivering results and holding self-accountable
  • Good level of business acumen and commercial excellence
  • Demonstrates solution expertise and focus on value creation
  • Work remotely, with flexible patterns, and with the ability to travel up to 50%
