Business Intelligence Developer

South Tyneside (remote working with bi weekly office commute)

Up to £38,000 per annum

A company who are market leaders in their industry are experiencing phenomenal growth and are looking to further develop their data offering. The business has continued to trade very well given the pandemic and are now able to resume as ‘business as usual’ status, after continuously hitting good levels of performance. Forecasting is looking promising and the business are keen to solidify their client offering, by providing an unrivalled approach to viewing and utilising data for better reporting, forecasting and decision making.

In place are a highly capable team, who are currently managing the reporting, data warehouse development and ongoing migration to cloud storage. You will join the team and help to add a long-term vision to the current reporting conundrum, by helping to understand the current state of affairs and provide input into the design and development of new data storage architectures. The requirement evolves as the team makes progress with their objectives and the end goal is to create a self-service reporting platform, using a tool like Power BI for instance.

There is a huge requirement for the candidate to have excellent communication, to help assess requirements from the stakeholders in the business and external customers. The role really is end-to-end, and to support your development, a career pathway will be instilled with steps to management in place.

To be considered, we are looking for:

• Knowledge of Analysis Services Tabular and/or DAX

• For understanding our current report generation, experience of SSRS, SQL Server, and T-SQL

• In-depth knowledge of Power BI for developing datasets and reports and permitting access to these reports using Power BI Premium

• Understanding of the fundamental principles of database and data warehouse design (Facts, Dimensions, Star Schemas etc.)

• Experience of cloud-based PaaS technologies in Microsoft Azure

• Understanding of Azure Synapse Analytics desirable

• Data Transformation using ETL/ELT, SSIS, Azure Data Factory
