Brockenhurst Collegehas an exciting opportunity for aSpanish Language Assistantto join their dedicated and enthusiastic team. You will be working on a claims basisreceiving an hourly rate of£20.82 per hour.

We are a high-achieving college attracting around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.

The College is seeking to appoint an inspiring and motivated individual to support students in the spoken component of the Edexcel A Level Spanish course. Spanish is a popular subject area in the College. Student recruitment in Spanish continues to be strong and students value the teaching from a team of specialists within the department.

The Spanish Language Assistant post is ideally suited to an enthusiastic and innovative native speaker who is keen to work as part of a dynamic, inclusive and supportive team and extend students’ knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural aspects of Spanish life, as detailed in the Edexcel specification. The candidate will work closely with the A Level Spanish lecturer to monitor, support and assess students’ abilities.

Spanish continues to be a popular subject which has achieved excellent results and the student feedback is very positive. We have a good number of students studying Languages, including Spanish, French and Chinese. Currently, we teach the Edexcel specification for Spanish and students have an excellent record of success. Our results are above the national averages, including both the high-grades rate and value-added scores.

The College has good IT and intranet facilities and a well-equipped Learning Resource Centre. Our curriculum intranet site is well resourced and utilised by students inside and outside of the classroom. We are keen to continue to develop our virtual learning environment further.
