Applications are invited for a Space Instrument Assembly, Integration and Test Technician in the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford.
The post is full time and available initially for a fixed-term duration of two years.
The successful candidate will join a team to build a series of space instruments for exploring the moon and comets. The role will require the post holder to develop, maintain and operate cryogenic vacuum equipment for simulating the space environment and to supervise the testing of valuable flight hardware using these facilities.
Applicants should possess a HNC, NVQ4, BTEC Advanced award or a degree in Engineering, and a strong background in mechanical manufacture and or vacuum systems. Previous experience in the field of CAD or cryogenic systems will be an advantage.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised and produce high quality test reports.
