About the role

We are looking for driven, credible candidate to join us as a Solutions Architect as part of the Wolseley UK IT Architecture Team .

This position will pla y an important leadership role in architecting solutions which enhanc e the capabilities and agility of our organisation , with a particular focus on systems integration , data, application architecture, and service oriented architecture (SOA).

We offer flexible hybrid working opportunities and the successful person could be based in a commutable distance to either our Ripon or Warwick office s.

You willbe responsible for

  • A key influencer in IT, you will r ecommend practical solutions that contribute to the alignment of IT and overall business function needs .

  • Understand ing and advocat ing the adoption of reference architectures and WUK IT strategies

  • Designing and overseeing implementation of integrated systems

  • Defining architectural solutions which enable the development or creation of identified business capabilities

  • Conducting research on emerging technologies and recommending technologies which improve our capabilities and agility

  • Consult ing with project teams to align projects to our strategic goals

About you

  • Experience d IT professional involved in solution design, you may currently be an architect or development lead with experience in disciplines s uch as solution architecture /design , consulting, service - oriented architecture , software design & development, application architecture, i nformation analysi s

  • A track record delivering solutions and applications that integrat e a cross technolog ies

  • Working knowledge of Agile and Wa terfall development methodologies

  • U nderstanding of SOA, middleware, database technologies, API ’s and cloud architectures

  • A desire to positively influence the direction of our IT function

  • S trong communication , stakeholder and decision-making skills

  • Understanding of business processes , ability to evaluate options & facilitate projects
