Location - Winchester, with remote working

Role Profile

This influential role will give you a great opportunity to collaborate with key teams across Arqiva, sharing knowledge and skills and influencing designers, engineers and developers across a broad range of projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and adoption of best practice engineering design standards and procedures, and apply quality assurance processes to ensure that end-to-end technical designs and builds meet technical requirements and standards
  • Provide support to the development of commercial proposals relating to complex technical and commercial requirements, and analyse and solve unique, complex and high impact problems
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and design solutions to meet agreed specifications
  • Provide detailed documented technical solutions and reports for distribution both internally and externally
  • Define the future state architecture and approach to technical issues and contribute to the development of strategy and future developments, and Identify and control technical risks and issues
  • Plan technical and architecture development and modifications and recommend process, product or service improvements
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the bid management process internal stakeholders and customers, and technical leadership within the team, sharing knowledge and skills and providing mentoring support to engineers and technicians.

Must Haves

  • Comprehensive architectural experience covering service provider, datacentre and public cloud network technologies.
  • Track record of creating Concept-Level and High-Level Designs with a commercial focus and appreciation of total cost of ownership.
  • Able to identify, analyse and specify design and development requirements, products, processes, systems and services sourced internally and tendered from third party suppliers.
  • Track record of building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders.

Might Haves

  • Significant experience using own knowledge of internal capabilities to meet customer needs while identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Architectural experience covering private and public cloud network solutions including Cisco, Azure, AWS, VMWare NSX and container network technologies.
  • Experience with access technologies, such as WiFi, xDSL, satellite and microwave radio would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience of actively researching emerging technology, market opportunities and keeping up to date with network technology and best practice developments.
  • Track record of evaluating and working to agreed quality standards within legal and statutory requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in applying security principles and solutions to Service Provider networks.
  • Qualification to Level 5 – diploma of higher education (DipHE), foundation degree, higher national diploma (HND) level 5 award, level 5 certificate, level 5 diploma, level 5 NVQ
  • Relevant certifications in Cisco, VMWare, Azure, AWS technologies, products and services.
  • Track record of identifying and mitigating operational risks and constraints.
