Job DescriptionLocation We operate a flexible hybrid working model, although travel would be expected to the closest Arqiva site up to 3 days per week.Accountabilities
  • Ensuring the design integrity of Network and Security platforms
  • Preparing detailed, cost plans and high-level design proposals, and maintaining Networks and Security roadmap
  • Managing the delivery of connectivity requirements, and network upgrades and replacements.
  • Managing Capacity on platforms, availability, service risk, and TCO improvements
  • Managing Maintenance Capex spend (Assessment, Forecasting, Business Cases, Change) for Networks and Security
  • Leading vendor operational performance management, relating to Networks and Security Platforms
  • Triage and resolve complex design issues and defects as part of Tier 2&3 Support
  • Drive innovation, both small and large, into and through the business; deploy and evidence with outcomes, a continuous improvement (CI) mind-set
  • Bring a commercial perspective to the operation, with a particular focus on cash management, cash preservation and optimising returns on investments made in assets and tools
  • Working with Architecture, support the strategic development of networking technologies and solutions in an Arqiva context and drive the implementation execution of this strategy
  • Working with Operations, provide direct technical support internal “consultancy” in the operationalisation of existing and new networking technologies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering
Expertise/ Experience
  • Experience of successfully leading a large Engineering organisation through change.
  • Significant experience of leading an Engineering team, with a strong track record of driving high employee engagement.
  • Track record of a highly structured and methodical approach to Engineering processes, service delivery, project delivery and financial management.
Required Technical / Professional Skillset(s)
  • Strong knowledge of technologies involved in Networking and Security.
(SDH, IP, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, PSDN Lines, Optical Transport, Broadcast Communications Standards (ASI/SDI), Cisco certification).Maximum salary £100,000 dependant on experienceBonus 15%Notice period 12 weeksMore than anything, we want to work with people who are passionate about what they do and believe in our vision.
