Solar Team Leader
We are searching for an experienced Solar Team Leader to be based near Burton upon Trent to support sites in the Midlands region.

Job Purpose/Summary Details

The Solar Farm Team Leader is a Technician with additional responsibilities, and you will report to the Solar O&M Manager.

You will be an experienced Solar Technician who has good leadership capabilities, project management skills and dedication to delivering an outstanding O&M service.

The Team Leader will support and plan up to 2-8 Technicians in a region and be accountable for the performance of the team and the region.

Organisational Context

You will manage coordination between RES management, contractor and site technicians.

Key Accountabilities

The responsibilities of the Solar Team Leader include all the responsibilities within the Solar Farm Electrical Technician job role, with the addition of the items below:
  • Daily planning alongside the Coordinator a team of Solar Technicians
  • Work with the Coordinator for responding to call outs from the monitoring team
  • Attendance at weekly coordination calls and relaying information back to the team
  • Always demonstrate leadership for health and safety and help improve safety standards across the team
  • Set high standard for quality and compliance of maintenance tasks, and lead by example in this area
  • Review and approve work orders in the company CMMS
  • Support on reporting Key Site Activities in SMART
  • Support the allocation of downtime events so that the correct downtime cause and penalising status can be recorded, and ensuring good commercial awareness when doing so
  • Approval of timesheets for direct reports
  • Discuss performance on a weekly to the Solar O&M Manager and demonstrate accountability for the performance of their region
  • Provide input on the monthly O&M reports
  • Support and perform audits and site checks to ensure the quality of all sites in the region and ensuring compliance with the O&M contract when requested
  • Ensure records are maintained and the CMMS is used to its fullest extent
  • Support recruitment and new team members’ onboarding activities
  • Provide support to fill resource gaps within the region
  • Maintain and develop relevant specialist Skills
  • Support budgeting and commercial planning activities
  • Other responsibilities in line with the role
