Job Purpose

Our Control Centre in Glasgow offers our clients 24/7 monitoring of their generation assets across the globe. An important enabler for this service is our in-house developed software which allows our operational controllers to respond, in real-time, to events and ensure the highest levels of asset availability for our customers.

Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will develop the existing cloud-based software tools to support our growth plans, by ensuring our operational controllers can work as efficiently as possible and always have access to the data they need.

An important part of these tools is a reliable data feed from the sites that we monitor on behalf of our customers.
  • wind farms,
  • solar sites,
  • storage,
  • high voltage equipment, and
  • other third-party tools used for managing work orders and site access and egress.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead a software team to establish new cloud-based products and develop existing tools used to help provide our Control Centre services.
  • Oversee the Product Management Plan, defining how the Products are developed and run daily.
  • Be the recognised expert on the Control Centre product suite, the market it operates it and any relevant competition.
  • Support the senior product manager in working with the data acquisition team to establish and maintain data connections to sites.
  • Create annual updates of the 3-year Product Strategy in response to changing market dynamics, stakeholder/user requirements and technology landscape.
  • Work with a broad range of global colleagues to ensure integration of products and new sites e.g. the operational technology team.
  • Line Management of the team who provide and maintain the product suite. Manage external software consultants to enhance internal resources.
  • Seek feedback from internal users and external clients to ensure intended benefits/outcomes are realised and to improve the product strategy and backlog.
  • Present at regular Board meetings to an internal Product Board (steering committee) of senior stakeholders and business leaders.
Knowledge
  • Agile software development.
  • Software development and operations best practices (DevOps).
  • Requirements gathering and business analysis.
  • Abasic understanding of networking would also be desirable.
Skills
  • Software product management.
  • Project management.
  • Cloud Development (Azure).
  • APIs/Web Services.
Experience
  • Line management.
  • Experience working in an Agile software team.
  • Stakeholder management of a global stakeholder base.
  • Previous experience in the renewable sector would be an advantage.
  • Experience acquiring data from operational technology sources would be beneficial.
Qualifications
  • Degree level qualification in a numerate discipline or equivalent level of professional experience.
