Astute’s Renewables team is partnering witha renewable energy provider with a commitment to professional development and sustainability to recruit a Solar PV Design Engineer for its Corby site.

Responsibilities And Duties

Reporting to the Solar Business Manager/ Technical Manageryou will:

  • Be responsible for the design of high-quality electrical designs for solar PV systems, from feasibility to handover.
  • Be responsible for submitting DNO applications, queries regarding the design, and provide compliant design solutions.
  • Work in a team of technical designers, project managers and sales consultants to propose cost-effective and detailed technical designs which meet client specification.
  • Lead design meetings to establish brief, budgets and project requirements and collaborating with the electrical site supervisor and project manager.
  • Provide support to any queries regarding solar PV’s that arise internally.
  • Guide junior engineers.
  • Keep up to date with relevant technologies to advise the company on technology choices.
  • Support design of mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring a safe and useful workplace.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Electrical qualification.
  • 3+ years’ experience working on Solar PV projects on commercial or industrial levels.
  • Proven experience using CAD software to produce technical designs.
  • Experience working with solar PV batteries and parts lists beneficial.
  • Relevant experience in DNO applications.
