My client is looking for a new Software Engineer to join their Reverse engineering team!

My client manufacture high quality car key programming & marine engine diagnostic equipment specifically developed for locksmiths, auto technicians and marine watercraft engineers worldwide.

Must be based in UK

Your day to day role will include :

• Taking part in our Scrum meetings and reporting to the Scrum Master.
• Using Jira to keep track of tasks
• Logging Vehicle communication (CAN BUS, K-LINE)
• Using IDA Pro
• Developing C/C++ applications for our tool
• Using Python to develop in-house routines for vehicle communication
• Cryptanalysis of algorithms
• Analysing various microcontroller architectures
• Testing procedures on various vehicles

The Person:

• Ability to learn. Absorbing and relating diverse information effectively is the key.
• Problem solving
• Good analytical skills
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Graduates are welcome to apply too!

Desirable Skills:

• Automotive Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Computer Science background
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, networks and architectures (CAN Bus, KLine, J1850)
• Garage diagnostics is a plus (ISO 15765-2/UDS, Keyword 2000)
• Experience using an automotive logging tool (Vector CanCase, Interpid NeoVI etc) Vector CANCase
• Knowledge of transponder technology
• Experience with at least one of the known cryptography algorithms AES, DES, 3DES, RSA
• Cryptanalysis
• Disassembling binary files using IDA Pro
• Assembler instruction set for any of the architectures o MC9S12(X), NEC V850, PowerPC/VLE, Intel X86, Intel X64
