About Software Delivery Manager

What is the role?

This is a flexible role (Part time/ full time / job share all considered) within our technology function responsible for coordinating and enabling agile product delivery and engaging with assurance across the life cycle of products and solutions at Lhasa.


You will support and facilitate delivery by working with product teams to iteratively plan and develop our products and solutions across their lifecycle and ensure delivery is aligned to the purpose and vision set out for each product.


You will also mentor and coach delivery teams in agile practices and supporting communication to meet the needs and demands of all professions, providing a whole team approach to product delivery. The Software Delivery Manager will help to visualise team workflow and achievements, ultimately providing value to members faster through iterating and continuously improving the teamwork.


This role reports to the Delivery and Assurance Lead.

Your responsibilities

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

.


  • Agile delivery coach who coordinates across science, applied science and technology delivery functions developing strong and effective agile teams to deliver quality products at pace, focusing on the right roles and skills that need to be present and their ability to work together.

  • Leading teams through the whole delivery lifecycle and engagement with assurance processes, building quality and support into ways of working.

  • Facilitating agile ceremonies to enable planning and review and build good team collaboration and communication.

  • Interdependency and risk management coordination across solutions.

  • Working closely with the product owner and applied scientist to prioritise delivery and facilitate the team to deliver in line with commitments.

  • Coaching team members and creating a developmental, collaborative environment for the team, building capability and healthy team dynamics.

  • Being an advocate and support to technology communities of practice, sharing skills and best practice to build organisational resilience and supporting the development of each profession.

  • Removing delivery blockers and driving continuous improvement of team ways of working.

  • Building trusted relationships across the organisation, understanding individual and functional needs within delivery teams and helping everyone understand the different motivations of colleagues.

  • The ability to coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices, continuously reflecting and challenging to improve ways of working and delivery.

  • Expert communication skills with the ability to mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with colleagues in all functions, at all levels and facilitating discussions about high risk and complexity to balance the needs of the delivery.

  • Understanding of value prioritisation, negotiating, influencing and supporting prioritisation of demand for product teams.

  • Life-cycle perspective, applying experience of multiple parts of the product life-cycle to ensure delivery teams receive the support and advise that they need at the right stage of delivery.

  • Focus on delivery momentum and optimisation of the delivery flow of teams. Actively addressing the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies including where accountability exists outside the team or no clear ownership exists. Identifying innovative ways to unblock issues.

  • Ability to lead a continual planning process and identify dependencies in plans across products and coordinate delivery.

  • Skilled to identify and rectify problems or issues in team dynamics.

Education and qualifications

  • A practitioner certification in Agile/Project Management and/or Scrum Master qualifications.
