What is the role?

To protect Lhasa and its member’s data and aid the design and delivery of Lhasa solutions within the Life Sciences domain. The Security Analyst will work within the Security Team to monitor our computer networks for security issues, document any security issues or breaches, as well as assisting development teams with security best practises as they create and maintain Lhasa’s software products.
The Security Analyst will work under the guidance of the Security Architect to help implement the security controls and will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to improve security across the business.
The Security Analyst will report to the Security Architect.

Why you?

Your responsibilities

o Review and create data flow maps for sensitive data
o Review vulnerability findings with development teams and assist with prioritisation and/or mitigation
o SIEM, analysis of incidents, indicators of compromise & external threat feeds. Ability to devise SIEM use cases for alerting
o Delegate for Security Architect in architecture review
o Assist with threat modelling to aid architecture roadmaps
o Work with the Security Architect to coordinate Red/Blue team exercises
o Monitoring and managing security incidents
o Having a strong focus on learning and continuous improvement
o Appropriately challenging existing practices
o Being positively responsive to change, and proactively helping to instigate change to improve
o Ensure that software applications and components are secure through alignment against both our internal standards and member needs
o Produce security training materials for Lhasa staff

Your skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Education and qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or higher in a relevant discipline e.g. computer science, software engineering, IT, communications and networking or considerable commercial experience of an information security role
  • Professionally qualified in information security

Skills and knowledge

  • Knowledge of infrastructure and networks
  • Knowledge of application & deployment architectures
  • Knowledge of cloud
  • Understanding of key legislation such as GDPR, Investigatory Powers, Digital Economies Act etc
  • Understanding of key Security frameworks and models such as ISO27001, Zero Trust, Defence in depth,
Mitre, OWASP etc
  • Knowledge of security technologies including but not limited to:
o Firewalls and IDPS
o DDoS protection
o SIEM & SOAR
o Threat Intelligence tooling & process
o Malware Protection
o Identity Management including JML, SSO & MFA
o Endpoint protection
o DLP & IRM
