Social Worker (Fixed Term until 31 March 2024) - PKC09674

£40,243 - £42,946

St. Martin’s House, Perth

An opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker post within the Public Protection Team.

The successful applicant will provide a social work service to individuals subject to Statutory Orders or licence imposed by both the Court and the Parole Board, in accordance with National Outcomes and Standards for Social Work Services in the Criminal Justice System and relevant Scottish Executive Circulars and legislation.

You will have the ability to assist individuals to address their offending behaviour through individual and joint work with other service providers, assess and manage risk as per the requirements of National Standards, and possess good negotiation and communication skills.

The Individual

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and motivated Social Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will have the relevant knowledge and skills to be involved in the effective management of a varied and busy caseload with a genuine interest in supporting people with a wide range of issues.

You should be highly motivated, innovative and flexible in your approach as well as clear and concise in both your written and verbal communication.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to engage with clients and a wide range of stakeholders. You will be able to organise your workload using a systematic approach to ensure high standards are maintained. You must be able to keep accurate and up to date records.

You should have a commitment to ongoing professional development to acquire the skills and knowledge relating to the role and developing expertise to provide support to others.

The successful candidate should hold a degree in Social Work or equivalent, and be a professionally registered practitioner as per SSSC requirements.

You should also be willing to be vetted to NPPV Level 1 in order to undertake the necessary duties as per the requirements to access and use the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR).

Required Qualifications
  • Social Work Qualification (DIPSW, CQSW, CSS)
  • Current registration with SSSC and responsible for maintaining annual membership.
