Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council

We are looking for 1 full time and 1 part time permanent social workers to fill vacancies within the Tipton area of Sandwell.

We require social workers who are experienced with working with customers in the community, has good social/social work skills, and attributes to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable people in Sandwell.

  • You will need to be motivated and flexible with high professional standards and knowledge and experience of practicing with the current social care legislation including the Care Act 2014, Continuing Health Care, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Community DOLS/LPS.
  • You will be expected to work with vulnerable adults with mental health issues, physical disability, complex needs, older people and their carer’s.
  • You will need to be confident carrying out outcome focused assessments, with support planning, to meet their care and support needs.
  • You must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals and with our partner agencies to deliver the best outcomes for our customers.
You will be given an induction, access to appropriate training opportunities and regular supervision with experienced managers. You will be working in a friendly environment, within a skilled, diverse and supportive team.

You will also be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.

Hours

2 posts - 37 hours per week /18.5 hours per week

The council operates hybrid working. This involves working from an agreed workplace location in the borough for at least two days a week.

Qualification:

  • Degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW or equivalent
  • Social Work England Registration
