  • undertake assessments of connected persons to care for children under a permanent order
  • coordinate the Financial Assessments, Support Plans and reviews of these for Special Guardians.
  • complete initial viability assessments of potential connected persons carers where necessary
  • work in partnership with Social Workers and other agencies to ensure that Prospective carers, Special Guardians and the children/young people that they support receive advice and support needed to ensure that the placements are successful and effective and that the outcomes set for each child/young person are achieved
Applicants will need to be suitably experienced and knowledgeable with regard to Special Guardianship Regulations and Orders of permanence available to the Court to enable them to provide advice, consultation and mentoring to social workers, prospective permanent carers and young people considering an alternative Court Order.About The ServiceThe Fostering service is divided into two teams, the General and Placements Fostering Team and the Kinship and Permanence Team, with the General and Placements Team supporting mainstream foster carers and the Kinship and Permanence Team supporting connected persons foster carers and Special Guardians.
