An exciting opportunity as a skilled labourer in an underground hard rock mining development has become available. You will earn £25,000 per annum with additional pay should work be required during unsociable hours.

This is a permanent full-time position, located in Derbyshire; SK17, operating over one shift. Day shift starts at 06:00-14:00, Mondays to Fridays.

This role is perfect for individuals who have always wanted to step into a mining career in the UK. Training on various types of machines, health and safety procedures and mining operations required for your role will be provided.

As a skilled labourer you will be a crucial part of the underground maintenance team. Your day-to-day activities will include but are not limited to, building ventilation doors, underground road maintenance, hanging electrical cables, installing water pipelines and ventilation ducting, scaffolding for building rise-holes and installing ground support. This job entails digging and lifting so a certain level of strength is required.

Role Requirements
  • You must be a resident in the UK
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a valid, clean UK driver’s license and a car
  • Have some construction experience, i.e. Paving, bricklaying, carpentry, groundworks
  • Skid steer license beneficial
  • Good literacy and able to follow instructions
  • Work well under pressure with a can-do attitude
  • A hardworking individual willing to grow with the company
  • A level of fitness capable to walk up steeply inclined uneven roadways
  • A strong safety orientated work ethic
  • Someone who works well on their own and in a team
Role Responsibilities

  • You must take reasonable care at all times of the health and safety of yourself and of other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
