Site Supervisor for Artificial Sports Pitch Construction / Civil Engineering

Location:Guisborough, TS14 6RQ

Our client is a leading nationwide sport, leisure & landscape contractor, and a trusted name in the plant hire sector. For over 50 years they have earned a reputation for industry-leading innovation, first-class customer service and excellence across their three divisions.

The company specialise in the construction of both synthetic and natural turf sports facilities.

Due an increase in workload, they are looking for suitably qualified Site Supervisors to join their sports pitch construction division.

The successful candidates will join their North East team and specialise in the construction of synthetic turf pitches. They construct these pitches for professional football clubs, schools, local councils and sports clubs.

The Role

You will be employed to supervise their existing teams which undertake all aspects or artificial sports pitch, and athletics track constructions. Their projects include, earthworks, drainage, stone layers, cement stabilising, kerbing, macadam, fencing, floodlighting and synthetic surfacing.

Due to the nature of their work, sometimes you may be required to stay away from home during the week. Hotels and subsistence are provided.

The Ideal Candidates Will Have
  • Experience supervising a team of up to 6 ground workers, plant operatives and/or subcontractors.
  • The ability to lead and successfully supervise a construction project from start to finish.
  • An organised, proactive, and motivated approach which ensures the teams productivity and output.
  • Ability to carry out company quality control checks to the construction specification and drawings.
  • Excellent communication and delegation skills.
  • A great understanding of the health and safety requirements on construction sites.
  • An SSSTS card or equivalent.
  • A full (entitlement to drive in the UK) driving licence.
Experience in sports pitch construction would be preferred, but not essential.
