About The Role

We are seeking a Site Services Engineer to join our team in Kerry Foods, Ossett. This is a full-time salaried role on an average 42 hour working week on a 4 on 4 off days shift pattern. You will report to the Site Senior Engineer and have served an engineering apprenticeship, ideally to HNC level or equivalent experience.

Knowledge of utilities such as Refrigeration, Boilers, Air Compressors, Pumps is desirable with knowledge of general maintenance an advantage as you will be required to support the business with several tasks including Plumbing, Lighting, Drainage, General building repair etc.

You will be responsible for operational and maintenance aspects, both planned and reactive for services to the site. Work towards a culture of PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) as opposed to Reactive Maintenance. All tasks, parts and maintenance is tracked on a computerised online maintenance system so computer skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance: Ensure planned maintenance is carried out in line with the site schedule. Liaising with other departments to ensure tasks are completed with little to no impact on operations
  • Process Capability: Establish capability of all site services processes and follow statistical process controls to monitor and ensure processes are stable and deliver products that meet customer specifications
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve standards set by facilitating and executing 8 Step Practical Problem Solving or other appropriate KPS methodologies within the site maintenance team
  • Communication: Liaise with Engineering colleagues on a regular basis to communicate equipment status, performance against the required schedule.
  • Manage Health and Safety: Ensure all engineering work carried out in the value stream meets the requirements of Quality, Safety, Health & Environment policies & procedures.
  • Document Standard Work & Standard Confirmation: Ensure documents are up to date and that reflect the preventive maintenance (legionella, daily checks, site compliance)

Qualifications And Skills
  • Relevant Third Level Engineering qualification or recognised, standards-based time served apprenticeship.
  • Relevant experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment or Site Services Role
  • Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office family of products
  • Experience of Maintenance Management Systems & software.
  • Asset management knowledge
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
