Job Overview
Responsible for facilitating the smooth running of operations within the laboratory, promoting operational excellence, SLA’s are met and ensuring processes are followed to the right standards.

You will have excellent people and stakeholder management experience, have previously worked in an operational role and be commercially astute.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
  • Act as first point of facilities management, running with any issues identified by Lab and Services Supervisors, while escalating if needed and following matters through until complete/resolved
  • Accountable for financial performance of the site, including right sizing of lab resources for the level of business it has and looking at inefficiencies and waste in delivering the service.
  • The first point of facilities/HSE concerns or questions for the site, proactively managing any hazards or breakdowns
  • The first point of contact for people issues within the lab, with input from Lab Manager, ensure shifts are adequately resourced and working to ensure under or over capacity is utilised
  • Leading investigations into failures to follow SOP’s, procedures or conduct issues, liaising with the people team for support and actively promoting lessons learned/service improvements
  • Leading sample movement for the laboratory, liaising with counterparts at the other laboratories and the logistics team, requesting logistics for the lab
  • Highlighting operational concerns/trends and look for solutions

Essential Experience:
  • Experience in an Operational supervisor role or equivalent
  • Excellent project and change management skills
  • APM, Prince2 or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience of budget management
  • Experience of people management and leadership
  • Robust knowledge of Microsoft suite
  • Full UK Driving licence
