Role Purpose:
Responsibility for the creation & delivering of a clear set of policies & processes which ensures the safety of our colleagues across our sites through Training, Communications, Audits, Equipment etc
Role Description & Responsibilities:
Health & Safety:
- Define all required H&S Standards which need to be met across the Production Floor & Offices
- In conjunction with Operations Director conduct regular checks to ensure H&S Standards are in place
- Manage regular meetings to feedback required actions which need to be met as part of site audits
- Highlight any adhoc H&S Issues which may require staff training or communication to improve or meet these standards
- Management of external audits from third parties ensuring all relevant supporting documents are provided
- Provide ongoing communication to Production Team through notice boards, briefings, Shift Supervisors & Line Leaders briefings
- Create & roll out a Fire Safety Plan including Fire Drills, Fire Marshals etc
- Creation of a Colleague Register to ensure visibility of who is in the building to meet Fire Safety regulations
- Provide Visitor Sign In Process & Policy to manage Visitors Safely
- Define & provide all key communication, H&S related requirements as part of the move to the new site – i.e. Cleaning Stations, First Aid, Signage, Communication, Cleaning Kits etc
Training & Development:
- Create Training & Development Records across the teams to show visibility of our procedures
- Continually review policies & performance identifying areas of weakness, making recommendations for improvements across the teams
- Use relevant quality tools ensuring managers & colleagues understand how to improve
- Define all required training for the business to agreed & fund which will support key Health & Safety practices – Fork Lift Licenses, First Aiders etc
PPE & First Aid:
- Establish & embed a clear PPE Policy across the business
- Provide clear communication across the Shifts to ensure the PPE Policy is understood, rolled out & reviewed
- Create a plan to store, supply & re-stock our requirements based on a solid process
- Recruit a Team of First Aiders to support all shifts & offices with any potential First Aid
KPI’s / Key Objectives:
- Completion of all Weekly/Monthly H&S Audits with actions followed through to solutions with key colleagues/teams
- Creation & training of key H&S & PPE related activities – Fire Drill, Registers, Equipment, Dress Code etc
- Ensure all Training Records are saved for visibility of training, development etc
- Set up of the new site to agreed policies & procedures relating to H&S etc
Key Relationships:
Internal: All Internal teams
External: Auditors, Insurance Brokers etc.....
Knowledge & Experience:
- Previous Technical, QC or Site H&S experience is essential
- Previous experience in manufacturing & production either on factory floor or within administration beneficial
- Experience in managing teams & planning 24/7 operations would be preferred
Professional Qualifications & Education:
Essential:
- Candidate has experience of working in a H&S role
Preferred:
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
- Knowledge of BRC Standards
Technical / Behavioural / Personal Competencies:
- Experience using Microsoft software
- Experience of creating & implementing policies, processes & procedures
- Experience with record keeping & archive systems
- Good communication & experience in leading & motivating teams
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
- Planning & project management skills
- Agility, persistence &the ability to influence at all levels

**This is a part-time role which will require flexibility on the days in the week which are worked. Set working days can be agreed in advance, but the candidate would need to be flexible if needed.**
