K9 Protection Ltd are seeking an SIA licensed student concierge guard to work in one of our sites in central Cardiff on a permanent basis.

The role requires someone with a can-do attitude and a customer-service approach to security- the primary purpose of the role is to keep the building, its residents, and their property safe from harm. The successful applicant will be responsible for being the main point of contact on site for around 600 residents and will include security, fire safety, and any other tasks which assist in the smooth running of the building, such as handing out post as and when required. We operate a digital patrol management and lone worker system, so the successful applicant should be able to use a smart phone.

K9 Protection are an SIA Approved Contractor who have been trading since 2011 and pride ourselves on delivering a quality service.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 2nd September at our Newport office.

The successful applicant will bring with them:

• A can-do attitude and being open to learning to work the way the site needs you to is more of a benefit than 100 years working in security.
• An SIA licence in either guarding or door supervision is essential.
• A people-friendly demeanour with the ability to take a firm but fair approach.. This isn’t a rent-a-thug position.
• Being able to speak, and write fluently in English is essential, and other languages would be advantageous.
• A CCTV licence is desirable, but it’s something we will put you through if you don’t already have it.
• First Aid & Mental Health First Aid would be advantageous, but again we can put you through if necessary.

You will need to fill in an application form on your computer prior to being invited for interview. The successful applicant will be able to start as soon as vetting and DBS checks are complete.

This role is for an average of 31.5 hours per week which is on a rolling nights pattern as follows:

• Week 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Week 2: Wednesday, Friday
• Week 3: Saturday, Sunday

This role is currently £9.50 per hour, with a pay rise due in the first week of November.
