My client is looking for a shipping clerk to join their team based at their site in Melton Mowbray. They are an established fragrance supplier and are looking for someone with experience in international import/exports and customs procedures - ideally from a freight forwading background. As a shipping clerk you would be resonsible for:-Managing the day-to-day import/export requirements
  • Maintaining first working relationships with our shipping partners and Customs to ensure all declaration entries are accurate, filed on time with the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) so all clearances are efficient and without delay
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with our clients to ensure customs declarations are completed to the highest order based on the information they supply
  • Planning and managing the weekly workflow requirements so clients expectations are met & declarations filed according to Customs timescales
  • Ensuring all products are registered under the correct tariff headings and HS codes
  • Ensuring high levels of accuracy and due diligence in all import/export processes
