We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer to join our Engineering team in Poole

The role

Your Will Be Responsible For

Reporting to the Technical Manager you will be part of the engineering team providing effective support to all plant/equipment across the site.
  • Maintaining the Extrusion /Thermoforming machines effectively to the required optimum operating standards to ensure minimal downtime
  • Respond to machine breakdowns
  • Diagnose & effectively deal with problems as they arise
  • Support the engineering planned maintenance program with the continual improvement process
  • Prioritise your work load in line with engineering guidelines and business requirements
  • Liaise effectively with engineering stores to maintain stock levels of parts to ensure key equipment can be continually maintained
  • Projects as/when required
Your profile

You Will Be

We are looking for an engineer with an electrical background ideally multiskilled in both electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Qualified in the latest regulations (completed an apprenticeship or formal City & Guilds qualification)
  • Able to diagnose issues, understand the root cause and implement corrective action when required.
  • Have knowledge of PLC’s, control panel experience & ability to interpret electrical schematic diagrams
  • You will be able to work on your own initiative and be a problem solver
  • An excellent communicator, communication skills are paramount in understanding and communicating effectively with colleagues and working effectively within your team, department and Team Leaders/ Managers
  • You should have relevant IT skills, good physical fitness and good attention to detail
Hours of Work

This role is on the continental shift pattern; your hours of work will be an average of 42 hrs a week, to be worked Days - 0600 - 1800, Nights 1800 - 0600. On occasion you may need to work additional hours to adapt to business needs.
