Established in 1889, and with our roots stretching back even further, Morley College London is one of the country’s oldest and largest specialist providers of adult education. Following Morley College’s merger with Kensington and Chelsea College in February 2020, the College is reshaping its curriculum and professional service teams to facilitate an ambitious plan for development and growth. The North Kensington Centre is growing its provision in Accounting, Business and Enterprise, consisting of both accredited and unaccredited short courses. The planned renovations will have a dedicated IT suite. The learner is placed at the heart of a unique educational experience to build their industry skills and soft skills towards prosperity in their future career and/or future studies.

About the role:

The College is looking to appoint a Sessional Tutor for IT/Computing for both accredited and non-accredited courses.

The purpose of the role is to plan, design, deliver, assess, evaluate and manage classroom activities within the IT/Computing subject area, providing the highest levels of quality in the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment to students at all levels within the College curriculum.


The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Pearson Level 1 and Level 2 in Extended Certificate in Information & Creative Technology
  • Pearson Level 3 Nationals in IT/Computing
  • CCNA Cisco
  • Comp TIA qualifications
  • Delivering a range of non-accredited IT/Computing courses
  • Successful experience of delivering high quality teaching in the relevant subject to adult learners of mixed ability in group settings.
  • Demonstrable experience of devising and maintain course materials of a high standard that are suitable for the needs of a variety of different learners.
  • Demonstrable experience of using appropriate teaching and learning methods, to communicate the subject and encourage learners from a range of backgrounds and communities to progress.
  • Undertake student recruitment, including the selection and interview process, and testing.
  • Demonstrable experience of recognising and meeting student’s needs and expectations through teaching.
  • Demonstrable evidence of promoting equality and diversity through teaching.
  • Excellent stakeholder management where the post holder is be able to develop productive working relationships with subject area staff and other college stakeholders including staff from all sections of the College, students, external partners and local community groups.

The ideal candidate will need to hold an undergraduate degree in a related subject and ideally have experience within the FE sector and hold a teaching qualification.
