Senior Ward Lead -Same Day Emergency Care UnitWe are looking for enthusiastic senior ward lead who is organised and can use their own initiative whilst being flexible to frequently changing situations, to work alongside the Advanced Care Practitioners in SDEC where you will be supporting the Acute Physicians and Surgical Consultants in admission avoidance of emergency medical and surgical admissions.As such we are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking Band 7, with significant past experience of managing/ assisting to manage, a fast paced, acute area, and who has past experience of project management in the setting up a similar service. You will need skills in people management, proven clinical acumen, including both acute medical & surgical experience, and a desire to promote excellence, quality care, and provide an optimal patient/family/ carer experience.The post requires excellent communication skills, with a range of health professionals in relation to patient admission and discharge, to support the working of the team with internal and external agencies, fellow professionals and to support safe and effective patient discharges from hospital and assistance with patient flow by avoiding hospital admission.If you feel you meet all the above and are excited by the prospect of a new challenge, we would love to hear from youLead the core nursing & relevant specialist establishment specifically with responsibility for delivering safe nursing care and people management and with responsibility to the lead ACP for SDEC and Matron.The post holder will work with all specialties and wider MDT to develop the service aimed at optimising the patient/ family experience, maximizing the appropriate pathways, reducing the potential length of stay, and work with the site team to maintain the flow out of ED for specialty expected patients.You will be working as part of a wider multidisciplinary team developing a service that will compliment and support the operational demands of the trust including the Emergency Department (ED).The ethic of the service will be to optimise the patient experience, patient and staff safety, whilst providing individualised care in line with individual requirement, and the various appropriate care pathways.At DCHFT, we pride ourselves on the care we provide for our patients, and on the culture, we are creating for our staff.
