Senior Utilities Engineer

Birmingham

£55,000 - £60,000 per annum Plus Excellent Benefits

A leading Master Developer and Development Consultant, providing specialist support to residential, commercial, retail and infrastructure schemes is seeking an experienced Senior Utilities Engineer to join their team in Birmingham.

The Consultancy work closely with developers, land promoters and owners of land, property and infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe to plan, design, cost and deliver their schemes.

Their teams have a valued reputation of successfully driving projects through the full development life cycle to deliver additional value and create great outcomes for our clients. Our clients include many of the UK’s leading blue chip Residential (traditional and MMC), Commercial and Retail property developers, Landowners and Promoters, Mining companies, listed financial institutions and both local & Government agencies.

THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Obtain asset plans
  • Determine the potential impact on existing apparatus
  • Advise on diversionary works, reinforcements and request the documentation from the statutory undertakers
  • Value engineering assessments on proposed diversions to minimise cost and programme risks
  • Procure competitive quotations through statutory undertakers, independent distribution network operators and gas transporters
  • Critically review quotations to deliver best value
  • Inform emerging development designs, identify easements and other key information at the early stage of projects
  • Liaise with the HSE to review consultation zones for hazardous installations and assess impact on developments
  • Produce utilities reports for new developments
  • Project manage and co-ordinate Utilities diversions and reinforcement schemes with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and liaise with leading industry contacts to deliver schemes
  • Review engineering design drawings to assess need for diversions and obtain diversion quotations
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant standards and legalisation
  • Lead the diversions process from C3 to C9 stages
