Milestone Infrastructureis currently looking to recruit a Senior Transport Plannerto work on our Peterborough Highway Services contract.

Reporting to the Principal Transport Planner and as a member of the Transport Planning Team you will be a key contributor of providing Transport Planning expertise, delivering Business cases, transport studies and traffic models to secure funding for infrastructure works in Peterborough. You will also support transport planning opportunities across Milestone providing support for our existing client base.

As theSenior Transport Planner your duties & responsibilities will be:

• Lead the delivery of business cases, transport studies and traffic models.
• Responsible for delivery of work to time, cost and in line with quality expectations
• Provide technical support and training to junior members of the Transport Planning Team.
• Lead on small – medium sized Transport Planning projects and coordinate multi-disciplinary input from colleagues and stakeholders where necessary.
• Undertake Quality Assurance reviews on work undertaken by Transport Planners and Transport Planning Technicians, as well as sub-consultants.
• Establish strong client relationships and support the Transport Planning Lead with work winning.
• Be actively engaged with the broader Transport Planning community, and share learning and innovation with the team.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in strategic and/or microsimulation transport modelling.
• Experience of providing input into successful Transport Business Cases and a solid understanding of the requirements for producing these.
• An awareness of local government structure and funding mechanisms, and experience of working on behalf of Local Authorities.
• Experience of working directly with clients, and an ability to deputise in the absence of the Transport Planning Lead.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience of presenting to clients and their stakeholders.
• Experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Ideally has 5 + years of Transport Planning experience.

• An awareness of the structure, client requirements and key points of contact across Milestone’s professional services contracts, and how Transport Planning can benefit these contracts.
