Showsec’s Senior Trainer is responsible for the design, development and delivery of security industry training, including physical intervention, across the UK along with leading and supervising our casual team of trainers.

Through the delivery of blended learning (virtual, classroom, eLearning) and work-based solutions, the Senior Trainer will support Showsec in growing the capabilities of the team to deliver strategic business objectives.

What you will be doing

  • Delivering training courses across the country and conducting assessments in line with Showsec requirements, policies, and procedures
  • Supervising and leading the casual training team including managing their workload and availability
  • Ensuring casual trainer qualifications are up to date and recertifications are conducted
  • Supporting the recruitment, induction, oversight, quality, and assess standards of casual trainers
  • Ensuring appropriate lesson plans, schemes of work, and materials are in place for all courses and ensuring the content meets standards and learning outcomes
  • Undertaking venue and workplace visits to mentor and assess staff when required
  • Assisting in the development of training courses, competency-based training and assessments
  • Reviewing progress, assessing coursework, assessments, and providing feedback to colleagues, and learners
  • Providing coaching, and appropriate work-based learning sessions for staff in support of all learning and development programmes
  • Undertaking CPD and complete a set amount of operational work
  • Liaising with colleagues to keep up to date records and course documentation and evaluation of courses
  • Demonstrating business awareness and recognising commercial opportunities to promote training services and represent Showsec at organisational and industry meetings

What we need from you

  • Training qualification such as PTLLS or AET3
  • Level 3 Delivering Conflict Management and Level 3 Delivering Physical Interventions
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence
  • Comfortable with delivering training and public speaking
  • Experience in designing and delivering a variety of training
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines
  • Computer literate and competent using Microsoft Office
  • Full clean driving licence
