About The Role

Nexperia are a global semiconductor manufacturer with over 14,000 employees worldwide. Nexperia deliver over 10% of the world’s semiconductor product, delivering 100 billion devices per annum. We are driving the efficient conversion of electricity in applications as diverse as Electric Vehicles and Mobile Phones.

We are now looking to expand our large R&D teams to develop new world leading Power Semiconductor products. As a result of this Nexperia are now looking to set up a new Design Centre, based in Newport South Wales, the UK’S largest fabrication facility. A short drive from cosmopolitan Cardiff and close to beaches and mountains for weekend adventures!

The role of Senior Test and Verification manager in responsible for overseeing the application engineering team. The role is focused around leading the development of engineering solutions that encourage customer engagement and improve design-win success for the business. Aspects of this role involve developing, improving and maintaining test methods whilst providing test related support to internal and external customers. (e.g. assisting with customer enquiries and complaints, new product promotional literature, etc.) In addition to this your role would include responsibility of the test and datasheet related activities required to introduce brand new products to the market.

What you will do
  • Manage and coordinate the development of the external application engineers
  • Coach, mentor, manage and recruit team members
  • Manage the development of customer requirements specification and technical material needed for product/portfolio release.
  • Understanding customers’ engineering challenges and development processes
  • Mapping out, developing and supporting technical solutions to meet customers’ requirements
  • Developing future capabilities and application knowledge
  • Developing test and verification capabilities for the product in R&D phase
  • Coordinate the development of technical material for the field such as apps note, demos and tools.
  • Manage the new product ideas creation process & Maintain the knowledge based for power electronic simulation tools.

What you will need

We are looking to hire a passionate individual that wants to be part of an adaptable and growing organisation working towards a green outcome. The skills required for this role are below and we are open to both Senior or Principal level applicants with management experience.
  • Experience designing sophisticated electronic products in automotive , consumer or industrial markets
  • General engineering experience required – Ideally 10 years in electronics
  • Degree or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or similar (Masters preferred)
  • Willingness for occasional international travel
  • Understanding technical aspects of electronic system, from the customers’ application down to the product features and product development process.
  • Interpret schematic diagrams
  • Circuit simulation, SPICE modelling, PCB design, electronic design for harsh conditions, thermal analysis etc.
  • Familiar with the test and verification solutions of IC and power device.
  • Motivate team of engineers and a history of running projects / managing small teams
  • Communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels within the organization and across boundaries.
