We are now looking to build a team in R&D and Process technology to develop new world leading Power Semiconductor products. As a result of this Nexperia are now looking to set up a new Design Centre, based in Newport South Wales, the UK’S largest fabrication facility. A short drive from cosmopolitan Cardiff and close to beaches and mountains for weekend adventures!

About The Role

We are building a new Research and Development team based in Newport and are looking for worldwide talent to join this team. As a lead Project Manager working at Nexperia you will be responsible for the overall execution of the project planning process following a continuous risk reduction process. This role is particularly interesting as you would be leading a projects team that are working on researching and designing world leading power management technologies that will eventually contribute towards net zero. This role would suit an individual with strong experience in leading complex engineering related projects with an understanding of design related issues.

What you will do

Your primary responsibilities would include:
  • Leading your team with your understanding of MOSFET Si/SiC and GaN technology
  • Delivering complex programmes and developing the best in class techniques
  • Resolving project conflicts and solving issues
  • Delivery of comprehensive technical Risk Analysis with team members
  • Tracking the costs and delivery from baseline
  • Linking with external organisations to ensure best practice is delivered
  • Liaising Design and Process Teams and understating industry trends

In terms of concept delivery and being a subject expert, you would be working on:
  • The Feasibility and development of next generation methodologies
  • Continuous improvement and innovative solution provision
  • Engaging and influencing stakeholders
  • Ensuring you are a leader in the field of project management
  • Using your knowledge to support business engineering activities across the organisation.

What you will need
  • A solid understanding and application of suitable project management techniques
  • An understanding of device physics applied to power MOSFETs (Silicon, Silicon Carbide, Gallium Nitride and the manufacturing and FAB test process
  • Understanding on complex interacting design/manufacture and release issues
  • Drive continuous technical risk analysis
  • Effective communication skills across cultural boundaries
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to create an effective team
  • Degree/MSc/PhD + 10 years’ experience in semiconductors or related field
