Do you have experience supporting people who have learning disabilities? Could you help mentor a small staff team?

We’re looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our small and friendly residential home in Glenfield.

You will be supporting a range of activities from everyday living needs such as assisting with medications, attending health and medical appointments, moving and handling, personal care and PBS support, through to the lighter side of life. Doing things like supporting individuals going to the cinema, taking a walk to the local shops to get magazines, swimming, going to Leicester City football games, helping to cook delicious healthy meals and getting involved with arts and crafts.

As a Senior Support Worker you’ll also develop rotas and work with the Frontline Manager to ensure a high standard of practice in the service. You will supervise the staff team, leading by example and identify training needs, whether that’s formally or by way of day-to-day coaching and reflection.

You’ll also be supporting our adults with personal development through taking part in our highly-praised training program.

This role is 37.5 hours a week working on a rota that consists of shifts covering 7am to 3pm or 2.45 to 10pm, including weekends and bank holidays, with sleep ins at the service.


About you

You will need experience working with people who have a learning disability and/ or autism. Perhaps you’re a care assistant or support worker and are ready to take your next step up the ladder. If you have the right experience, and you share our values, are warm, friendly and willing to learn, you’re likely to be a great fit.

You will need a manual driving licence that allows you to drive in the UK.
