Job Summary (Description of main purpose of job)

You will be responsible for leading a designated group of support workers to ensure that excellent services are delivered to each person supported by Brothers of Charity.

The person appointed will display a level of judgement and initiative proportionate with the significance of their post and have the skills and ability to manage a larger group of clients and Support workers and support the delivery of a large number of support hours.

Our ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Qualification with experience of working with adults who have learning disabilities and their families
  • Knowledge and understanding and a track record in planning with people
  • Excellent listening skills – Ability to actively listen to what the people we support are asking for and design support to reflect this.
  • Excellent leadership skills – To demonstrate an ability to set direction, lead and motivate staff
  • Positive role model – Hard working, motivated, flexible with a proactive approach
  • Integrity – Clear desire to work and commit to delivering a service in an open and honest manner.
  • Problem solving skills – Demonstrate skills in understanding complex situations and difficulties and work in a sensitive manner to solve these.
  • Personal learning and development – Show a desire to learn and develop through continuous training and development.
  • Management/Organisational skills – to be able to manage more than one location (home) and support teams of staff and clients.
  • Excellent communication skills – Ability to communicate to a high standard with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of delivering change
  • Experience of working with and relating to people from a wide variety of backgrounds including marginalised groups
  • Relevant experience of working with people with learning disabilities
  • Ability to effectively support the delivery of the ethos, vision and values of the Brothers of Charity Services.
  • To work on rota including evenings and weekends
