Job Purpose:

Responsible for the correct, efficient and timely introduction of new parts into the supply base to support new vehicle introduction. Also support with defective part root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions within the supply base.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

To deliver the quality requirements of the department in a correct, efficient and timely manner that includes.

  • The selection and approval of part suppliers to Aston Martin.
  • Agreement of the vehicle and part quality requirements with the Programme, R&D, Manufacturing departments, including the supplier for the development and approval of the Vehicle Inspection Standard (VIS) and Part Quality Standard (PQS).
  • The support of part and process design, development and correction using engineering and quality tools (i.e. DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, 8D, 5WHY, Ishikawa diagrams, PPS, etc.)
  • The delivery of off tool, off process 100% accurate parts and their final approval using the Aston Martin Part Approval Process (AMPAP).
  • Supporting Suppliers, Launch and Manufacturing departments through pre-production build phases into the Start Of Production (SOP) at all manufacturing facilities.
  • The regular reporting of part and issue status to Lead engineer.
  • Containment and solution of any parts quality issues by improving the parts or supplier throughout the life of the part.
  • Supporting the supplier recharge process, where a supplier is liable due to the supply of a defective part into a prebuild or into series production.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Knowledge of Quality tools and techniques
  • Experienced problem solver
  • The ability to self-manage and work under pressure to deliver and thrive in an ever changing and dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience of managing the supply base to deliver the quality processes.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional team meetings to define clear improvement action plans and close-out in a timely manner.
  • Skills in reliability and robustness engineering
