Due to exciting transformation, we are pleased to announce an opportunity for a strong individual with intellectual leadership and in-depth knowledge in Sourcing, Procurement and Supply Chain to join our Procurement & Supplier Management (GPSM) team as a Senior Sourcing Manager.

In this role you’ll lead the execution and negotiation of strategic sourcing activities in accordance with policy, strategies, risk appetites and regulations. You’ll provide senior oversight of sourcing activities within the team with the aim of ensuring value is maximised and risks managed appropriately. You’ll also be expected to bring thought leadership and drive innovative commercial outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead strategic sourcing activities and negotiations for renewals, incremental purchases and new supplier engagements ensuring relevant control and governance requirements are met, as demand dictates
• Work closely with lead Business Partners and Supplier Relationship Managers to actively identify and lead opportunities to drive value and improve performance of potential supply base while seeking to reduce cost and risk and improve performance and value
• Ensure all contracting and commitment to spend is undertaken and governed in accordance with good practice, policies and in line with company strategy with a view to realising savings and cost increase avoidance
• Lead the development and implementation of best practice, controls and governance in the context of the relevant policies and risk and regulatory frameworks
• In all situations where suppliers provide goods and services directly to our external customers, ensure that procurement activity and supplier relationships are managed in line with Legal & General’s Consumer Duty Accountability

What we’re looking for

• You’ll have good Intellectual leadership skills and experience, with an in-depth knowledge in Sourcing, Procurement and Supply Chain including category management, sourcing execution and use of procurement technology.
• You’ll have a good knowledge of contracting principles and associated legal frameworks, understanding of spend categories, financial models, regulatory landscape, and impact on commercial agreements
• You’ll need an understanding of tools and techniques to execute strategic sourcing (e.g., RFQ process, spend analytics, e-RFQ tools, etc.)
• The ability to lead matrix teams while role modelling L&G behaviours through engagement of stakeholders.
• You’ll have experience and the ability to prioritise busy workload, work to deadlines and ability to be flexible in a continuously changing environment.
