We have an outstanding opportunity available for a Senior Architect within our Technology division, working closely with key stakeholders across our entire business. The role will be placed within our Architecture team and work with our development teams to deliver innovative and high-quality technology solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with our Product team to help build the vision and translate that vision into deliverable solutions.
  • Creating high level designs for technical solutions.
  • Identifying common patterns and reuse opportunities.
  • Researching and investigating new technologies.
  • Providing guidance and decision support to development teams during implementation.

Required skills and experience

  • 10+ years of experience in software, network, or systems architecture
  • 5+ years of cross-entity product architecture experience with proven track record of successful enterprise impacts
  • BS Engineering/Computer Science + advanced degree or equivalent experience required
  • Master level knowledge in architectural design and knowledge of architectural governance.
  • Proven experience of leading complex projects and customer relationships.
  • Deep understanding of programming languages, coding, and development best practices with extensive software development experience using C# or Java.
  • Extensive experience with Sql and NoSql database technologies such as SqlServer, Postgres, MySql, MongoDB, MarkLogic, etc.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing event-driven service-oriented and microservice architectures. Kafka experience is especially desirable.
  • Proven ability to work with external vendors to understand/communicate vendor technology strategy in the context of our architecture, as well as future engineering architectural strategies.
  • Solid working knowledge in Networking and Infrastructure Architecture.
  • Solid working knowledge with DevOps, automated deployments, containerisation and orchestration tools (such as Kubernetes)
  • Experience in designing and implementing cloud native and serverless solutions using AWS or Azure.
  • Advanced organization/project planning, time management, and change management.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and executive management, customers, etc.
  • Strong ability to develop architectural business cases tied to enterprise strategy.
  • Strong research skills.

· Experience working in an Agile environment.

Desirable skills:

Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Experience in MarkLogic and/or MongoDB database experience.

Experience in creating Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.

Experience using Kafka.

Experience in creating micro-front end architectures.

Machine learning, AI, big data, and Data Science experience.

Technology is a central part of the ICIS business. The technology team provides the online products and systems to collect and distribute ICIS data to our global audience.
