In the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) we serve customers in a range of markets and applications from environmental and food safety analysis to forensic science and toxicology.Location:United Kingdom and EMEA - RemoteHow will you make an impact?We seek an emerging professional with strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and social skills to support our customers in their use of our Chromatography Data System (CDS) and Mass Spectrometry (MS) Software. Your position will be housed in the Software Support function and will support internal and external customers. Helping you do this, is a team of Software Support professionals who work collaboratively to attack issues together. Everyone on the team actively:What will you do?
  • Act as the initial point of contact for customer support requests
  • Help our customers make the most of their software deployments
  • Develop collaborative relationships with our customers
  • Visit customers for on-site relationship building or troubleshooting
  • Serves as a customer advocate to identify mutually beneficial resolutions for us and the customer.
  • Build working relationships with other departments of Thermo Fisher Scientific, particularly within the Software Development and Product teams
  • Proactively learns new technologies as well as the supported products
How will you get here?Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Life Sciences or related field is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years CDS administration experience
  • Experience with MS software preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Experienced with CDS or MS Software
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Deployments
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Win 7, Win 10
  • Database Management a plus!
  • Knowledge of chromatography instrumentation and its usage in an industrial laboratory setting is advantageous
  • Proficient in Spanish is a plus.
  • Comfortable with and effective at expressing and exchanging ideas, concepts, and designs in a group setting
  • Customer-focused and committed to customer allegiance
  • Ability to collaborate closely with people at all levels, from technical experts to novice users
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 20% of the time
