Make an impact as a Senior Software Engineer
As one of our senior software engineers, your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of designing, building, testing, automating and supporting integral infrastructure and application components within our API platform.
- Problem solver who can drive forward, contribute positively to the DevSecOps culture, advising and shaping technical best practices.
- Being a team player who wants to strive forwards together and not as individuals.
- Mentoring less experienced members of the team; leading code reviews and helping the team to grow and level up.
- Node.js, Typescript
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Knowledge or Experience of AWS – S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS and SQL databases (Aurora PostrgeSQL), NOSQL databases (Dynamo)
- Familiarity with AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)[AM1]
- Cloud services – Kong, Consul, Vault
- Experience application/infrastructure monitoring (Datadog)
- JMeter, Cucumber, Selenium, Postman
- Good use and understanding of tooling such as Gitlab
- 5+ years of experience
- Comfortable working in a distributed, diverse / heterogeneous environment
- Good understanding of contemporary best-practices and anti-patterns across infrastructure and application components
- Experience in developing APIs (REST or GraphQL)
- Logical approach and a high level of attention to detail
- General understanding of low-level design principles and technical integration skills
- Desire to continuously improve and produce quality solutions
- Experience of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD)
- Experience of implementing a testing strategy in line with the engineering strategy
- Experience working on databases with large datasets, monitoring and tuning performance
- Excellent communication, able to work remotely and take ownership
- Have a good understanding of business use cases
