Job Title:Director of Customer Solutions (VAS)

Location:Hybrid UK - Corby

Working Pattern:Full-time

Summary Of The Role

This role is accountable for leading and coordinating the Value-Added Solutions, Technical Product Support and Implementation teams. Working closely with the Sales organisation, they will own and deliver sustainable and profitable sales and execution of services and solutions to drive an effortless customer experience whilst optimising efficiency and effectiveness. They will also drive best practice to ensure operational excellence and share of wallet growth within our customer base.

They will work collaboratively across the EMEA markets and EMEA Value Added Solution function to drive, strengthen, harmonise, and optimise Value Added Solution implementation and Technical Strategy across the EMEA region which has an established turnover of £1.1bn with an aspiration to exceed £5bn

The VAS Solutions cover procurement, inventory, engineering & maintenance. The Technical strategy is for field and office-based support to differentiate in the market and provide innovative solutions to future customer needs

What You Will Do

  • Lead, develop & manage the UK VAS & Technical Organisation
  • To lead, motivate & inspire a multi-disciplined organisation of accredited professionals across inventory, procurement, maintenance & engineering, implementation, and technical resource
  • To enable RS Group to become First Choice for customers, suppliers, employees, and shareholders
  • To create a talent pipeline that fosters diversity & inclusion to ensure customer & supplier centricity to drive profitable sales growth
  • To be a visionary and effective coach to enhance strategic thinking throughout the VAS inc Technical teams
  • To operate & act as a role model in a complex matrix organisation and lead by example to set ambitious organic and in-organic aspirations and execute flawlessly and at pace
  • To embed purpose and values throughout the organisation and in ways of working
  • To execute strategy to achieve RS Components strategy at pace and through risk management
  • To remove barriers to execution to enable deliver of strategy
  • To execute the EMEA governance related to VAS
  • To contribute with the execution of the Tier 1 market Go-To Market, to ensure solutions & contracts are implemented to drive profitable sales growth

What You Will Bring

  • Strong Commercial background, with exceptional leadership skills.
  • Thorough understanding of customer behaviours and purchasing patterns and appropriate Marketing principles
  • Experience of leading and understanding the needs to define, develop and implement Technical Support strategies
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Engineering/Technical capabilities
  • Demonstrable ability to serve as a successful participant on a Leadership team that provides Growth mindset around leadership and direction to increase market share
  • An enthusiastic leader, driving high performance and a culture of accountability
