Barnsley Council are seeking an experienced Senior Regeneration Officerto join our team based in Barnsley. You will be working on a full time, fixed term basis (37 hours per weekuntil 31/03/2023).In return, you will receive a competitive salary of£40,578 - £43,570 per annum.

TheSenior Regeneration Officerrole:

You will join a team of professional regeneration officers leading on the delivery of a range of innovative and transformation regeneration projects in the heart of Barnsley Town Centre. Following the successful delivery of the new £190m Glassworks retail and leisure scheme, the team are leading on a number of schemes including:

  • Delivery of a landmark bridge enhancing connectivity and linking the Glassworks to other key assets including the Metrodome Leisure Complex and Barnsley Football Club
  • Working in partnership with Onside to deliver the Barnsley Youth Zone
  • Transformation of the 4ha Courthouse Site to establish ‘The Seam – Digital Campus’

In addition to the above, the opportunity to work within this regeneration function will provide you with a wealth of experience in relation to areas such Urban Regeneration Strategy, External Funding Applications, Partnership working and collaboration.

Responsibilities as ourSenior Regeneration Officer will involve:

  • Lead on project management, co-ordinating resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Ensure that projects are effectively planned and managed within a formal programme
  • Provide professional advice and guidance in relation to projects
  • Be responsible for monitoring risks and dealing with issues to ensure projects are delivered
  • Undertake performance management and complex data analysis and interpretation, promoting quality practice and service delivery
  • Identify, evaluate and implement processes, technology and systems to enhance project and service delivery
  • Work allocation to a small team
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations
  • Be responsible for the recruitment, training and management of a small team
  • Be responsible for monitoring project budgets
  • Contribute to the development of service strategies, polices and plans
  • Proactively liaise, negotiate, influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Keep abreast of wider developments to enhance the service accordingly

Qualifications and experience we’re looking for in ourSenior Regeneration Officer:

  • Level 6 qualification
  • Experience in project management
  • Experienced in the delivery of construction related projects (Desirable)
  • Experience of working on large complex change projects within a large organisation
  • Experience of acting as an advisor to managers at all levels of seniority
  • Experience of continuous service improvement
