Our client, a large Multi branded Construction organisation are looking for an Internal Recruitment Consultant to join them to cover Permanent hires in the UK.

  • This role is remote or in the office depending on your preference. However, you will need to do 2 days a fortnight in Telford area with accommodation paid and 1 day a week in Harrow.
  • Package is flexible depending on the individual and will consist of Basic plus Bonus and Car Allowance.

The Client

The business are an outstanding, commercial Construction and Infrastructure services organisation. They are compiled of a number of businesses who service internal clients (the other brands) and they package up their skills and services and sell to external clients also e.g. they don’t have an internal marketing function, they have a Marketing Business that they own who service internal accounts but have commercial capability in a brand of their own right to go to market with this offering. Talking to the leaders of this business is so exciting, their ideas, their commerciality, the possibilities are endless.

The position that is a new position that has been created, is to work for their Recruitment Organisation, who service internal and external clients to be an internal recruiter. The rest of the team currently mainly do temp recruitment with their manager doing some Perm roles and they have been using specialist agencies. They have also made acquisitions and are growing their commercial model via their brands so they are in need of a full time, permanent recruiter now to service inhouse accounts.

The Role

  • You will be working on roles such as marketing managers, payroll, and all other usual central service type positions as well as taking initial responsibility for 1 brand who would need you to hire a large number of permanent surveyors.
  • Sourcing using job boards, referrals, social media, LinkedIn recruiter to find permanent staff for other brands within the group
  • You will be working closely with HR to ensure that you hire people internally following the right recruitment processes, using existing competency models and interviewing techniques
  • The right person will be very focused on the quality of the hire and reducing staff turnover
  • You will likely be involved in suggesting new methods, tweaking and changing processes, tracking and identifying trends and putting proposals to the business and to HR of initiatives to improve employee turnover
  • You will be working with the Marketing brand owned by the same business who will collaborate with you on employer branding tools e.g. collateral and documentation needed or enhancements to the website
  • You will partner your internal clients to provide a quality service, these clients are internal, they have to use your services and they pay an internal fee so although this is an internal recruitment role they will expect a level of service that someone would pay for in the external market
  • For larger projects with client you will need to project manage the design of a recruitment process, the attraction strategy any marketing work needed and price up the project for the internal brand with a mark up for your own business so you will need to be commercially astute and keen for the internal brand you work for to be performing well financially.

The Individual

Essential requirements

  • You must have been a recruiter in an agency setting for perm technical roles in Construction, IT or Engineering
  • You must have the ability to work with mid level and executive level candidates as you will be sourcing candidates a mixture of £30-40k roles and some up to £120k
  • You must have recruited in the UK market before
  • You must have the permanent right to work in the UK and be based already in the UK to do the role

Person Specification

  • You are likely to have 3 years plus of agency recruitment experience and have been billing more than £100k a year
  • You might already work in internal recuritment within a HR team but want to work more commercially. Whilst this is an internal recruitment role it is a more client facing, agile version of the role given their structure
  • You are likely to enjoy being commercial and filling roles but want to work within a big corporate company with the structure and career development that this brings
  • You might want to move away from business development and move to a role that is more HR focused and is about quality hires and recruitment processes more than it is about individual fees for roles
  • This would suit someone who likes being commercial and having ideas. Once you have got the internal recuritment function for perm where it needs to be there is nothing stopping you putting ideas to your manager on how you can go to market with other services. What is there that you are great at internally that can be sold externally as this is what this business is all about. Imagine working in an internal recruitment function that becomes a consultancy service externally. How amazing would that be. This is what this role can do for you.
