About The Position-
Arcadis’ Mobility team focuses on Infrastructure assets across Rail, Aviation and Highways. We have an established specialist unit in our Mobility team to support our UK Infrastructure clients achieve value for money and capture benefits by deploying best practice in the development of their major projects and programmes.

Following a major win with a key rail client, our UK Mobility Rail team is looking to recruit an experienced career minded Senior Cost Consultant to work as part of the client’s commercial team. Adopting and updating established processes and systems to enable the development and delivery of key contracts in line with the clients Contract Management Policy.

Key Accountabilities-
The role will entail a broad scope of work, which will involve all aspects of commercial management from project commencement to Final Account. The duties / responsibilities defined below may be supplemented by further duties as requested by the managing client.
  • Assisting in the coaching and development of colleagues in order to share knowledge, increase team skill level and improve the overall standard of service delivery.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the client’s strategy for managing supplier relationships.
  • Setting up, managing and administering contractual processes and procedures such as, but not limited to contract management plans, contract correspondence control, contract variations, payment schedules, extensions of time and insurance claims.
  • Ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements so as not to compromise the client’s position.
  • Using own knowledge to maximise the client’s financial performance through diligent application of contractual and commercial practices.
  • Creating and maintaining cost and progress monitoring reports, ensuring internal budgets, forecasts and investment authority are accurately tracked in line with the clients cost control policies, governance and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assessing and negotiating accurate interim valuations and applications for payment for completed works with suppliers, in accordance with the agreed contract conditions and programme.
  • Facilitating the preparation and validation of project closeout documentation, which may include a Final Cost Audit, Final Account Statement, Completion Certificates and Deed of Settlement.
  • Fully understanding the client’s needs and ensuring effective relationships are built and maintained by providing consistently high customer service.
Knowledge And Experience-
Whilst potential is more important to us than experience, ideally you will also have some of the following key skills and expertise-
  • Experience coaching and mentoring more junior colleagues.
  • Experience managing business relationships with mid-management level clients and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with or for publicly funded bodies and/or major publicly funded programmes.
  • Extensive experience providing both pre-contract and post-contract services.
  • Experience planning, developing and implementing complex high value contracts.
  • Experience using commercial management and reporting systems such as Oracle, SAP ERP and Power BI.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, 2-1 or equivalent or above in a relevant discipline
  • MRICS or equivalent chartership with a recognised industry organisation
