We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team in our ’Twyford to Greatworth’ (T2G) section. You’ll report into our Commercial Manager for the section and will be responsible for tender pricing; risk assessments and contract drafting / negotiations.

In this fast paced role you can expect to work both within a supporting nature as well as independently leading on your own projects. You can expect to deal with Cost and Value reconciliations, Bottom Up and End Life Cost Reporting, Cash Management and much more.

You will need to build strong working relationships with the client, and key colleagues both internally and externally. A key art of this role will be contract administration which includes data reporting and record keeping.

You will be responsible for subcontract account management and payment, dispute management and you must contribute to project performance discussions, providing commercial input to project strategy.

About the Candidate

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the NEC3 Conditions of Contract including experience in Options A, B, and C
  • Working experience of self-delivery works
  • Experience of working within a Civils contractors environment
  • Have an understanding of direct and indirect cost and time impacts
  • Enthusiastic in their approach and can communicate with site teams
  • Experience in subcontractor management.
  • Able to maintain accurate records to assist in claims

Desirable

  • Hold a relevant Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent
  • Experience in working on one or more of the following disciplines: Earthworks, Groundworks, Drainage
  • Procurement of subcontractors
  • Dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work ethic in performing all duties
  • Time management and able to work to regular and ad-hoc deadlines.
  • The ability to plan and approach work methodically
  • Record keeping and administration skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, tolerant, and determined
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages in particular Excel.
  • Able to work semi-autonomously.
