This is an excellent opportunity to join the Turbines Operations Business Unit (OBU) Quality team as Senior Quality Engineer.

The Core and Cast cluster of manufacturing facilities within the Turbines OBU is responsible for the manufacture of turbine blades across a wide range of Rolls-Royce engines, and operates from plants in Denby, Trentham, Derby and Rotherham.

Whilst primarily located in Denby, there will be occasional requirements for travel between sites within the Turbines OBU.

You will be a key member of the team, working to build Quality in our manufacturing facilities. The role reports to the Senior Quality Business Partner within the Core and Cast cluster of the Turbines OBU, and within the OBU Quality Team. You will lead the day-to-day quality agenda of Ross Ceramics, primarily from within the Denby site, but with a close working relationship to the Trentham site. Ross Ceramics is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rolls-Royce, supplying ceramic cores to precision foundries within Rolls-Royce and to other external customers.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Governance of all Quality-related activity and recognised as a point of contact for all Quality issues in the area
  • Manage and maintain the Ross Ceramics QMS, and to assess its effectiveness through conducting audits within the business
  • Providing coaching and support to all team members when performing Quality actions and liaise with all Support functions on behalf of the area for all Quality matters
  • Identifying opportunities to improve Quality and implementing plans to deliver that improvement
  • Coordinating data reporting and sharing best practice across the area.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience of maintaining Quality Management Systems with appropriate ISO9001/AS9100 Lead Auditor training
  • Strong experience of working in a quality, business improvement or Manufacturing Engineering role and leading cross-functional and multi-skilled teams
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to effectively influence and challenge appropriately at all levels through understanding how organisations work and how to use both formal channels and informal networks to get things done.
  • Self-management of time keeping, daily prioritising and focusing on Blue Chips is key to ensure basics are covered
