THIS IS A TWO-YEAR FIXED TERM POSTAn exciting opportunity for an experienced, suitably qualified Senior Project manager to join the GPW programme office team working flexibly for 37.5 hours per week. This will be a key role in delivering the Welsh Government’s Genomics Delivery Plan for Wales and future plans as part of Genomics Partnership Wales.The Genomics for Precision Medicine Strategy was launched in July 2017, and set out the Welsh Government’s ambitious five-year plan to create a sustainable, internationally competitive environment for genetics and genomics.“Partneriaeth Genomeg Cymru – Genomics Partnership Wales (GPW)” was established in 2018 to support a collaborative approach to genomics in Wales.Genome UK: The Future of Healthcare was published by UK Government in 2020, and sets out the ambitions for how genomics will transform the health of the UK population over the next ten years. All UK nations are committed to this overall strategy and the joint working required to deliver the changes, alongside the development of their own delivery plans to align with these aims.The post holder will be based at home with occasional work at an office in Cardiff as part of a small programme team (home and office-based) but will be required to travel across Cardiff and other parts of Wales, and further afield as necessary.Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require part time or flexible working arrangementsThe successful candidate will work closely with a variety of stakeholders from across Wales including clinical, laboratory and academic colleagues, Welsh Government, charitable organizations and the private sector. The post holder must demonstrate a strong ability and experience to manage and deliver complex projects in an evolving and uncertain landscape designed to transform healthcare through the use of genomics; to meet short and long-term aims in partnership with multi-discipline professionals and patients, and to deliver projects of high quality, on programme and within budget. They must be able to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, and have the ability to lead and work as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to evidence experience of delivery in an environment where changing circumstances are the norm.
